Lauren Altomare

Picture
Lauren is a student in the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto, specializing in Biomedical Systems Engineering.

Her academic interests lie at the intersection of medicine and machine learning, with a particular focus on applying technology to improve the understanding of neurological disorders. Currently, she is leveraging machine learning techniques and neuroimaging data to investigate patterns in patients with trigeminal neuralgia—an area she hopes can lead to earlier identification and more personalized treatment strategies.

Outside of the lab, Lauren enjoys being outdoors—running, riding and writing poetry.
