Dave Hayes

Dr. Dave Hayes is a Postdoctoral Fellow with an interest in emotional brain circuits and how dysfunction can contribute to illness. Brain-based investigations of pleasant and unpleasant experiences bridge the fields of neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, neurology and philosophy.
Prior work has investigated the neuronal, biochemical and conceptual underpinnings of emotional experience. Studies have involved neuroimaging, behavioural, and pharmacological techniques in humans and animals. This work has been supported by NSERC and CIHR.
Current projects are focused on understanding changes of brain structure, function and neuropsychology in those with chronic neuropathic pain.
