Our lab aims to discover and understand the fundamental principles of organization and function of the nervous system in health and disease and to translate this understanding into clinical practice. Job Description:

As a key member of the Hodaie lab, your responsibilities will include the following duties:
- Maintain a clinical and research database
- Assist with the administration of our research studies
- Coordinate research ethics board revisions, submissions and annual approvals process
- Amend study protocols and consents as required
- Support our research team
- Interact with research subjects to explain studies, obtain consent and duly maintain necessary study documents
- Foster relationships and liaise with nurses, physicians, other members of health care teams, other study coordinators and regulatory personnel to ensure protocol compliance
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- A post-secondary degree in a science or health-related discipline
- Clinical Research training (certificate program or courses) is preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in clinical research is preferred
- Strong computer skills- Word, Excel and Microsoft Access
- Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Values patient interaction and enjoys being immersed in the medical environment

Your responsibilities will include the following duties:
- Participate in research recruitment and other related activities
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, specifically pertaining to neuroimaging
- Work with lead investigators, researchers, and clinicians throughout the research process
- Develop and innovate visualization software for neuroimaging data
- 4-year B.Sc or Honours Bachelor's degree in a related field – neuroscience and/or computer science background preferred
- Proficiency in scripting/programming skills (Javascript, Python, and/or Matlab preferred)
- Experience working with 3D computer graphics (i.e. 3D modeling and animation) and with virtual/augmented reality software and hardware is an asset
- Knowledge of neuroimaging software (e.g. 3D Slicer, MRtrix, FreeSurfer, FSL, ANTs, SPM)
- Ability to work independently and deliver on schedule

- Develop and drive all stages of research project(s) in collaboration with a team of clinicians and researchers
- Analyze multi-modal neuroimaging datasets (e.g. anatomical, diffusion and functional MRI) for novel neuroimaging/neuroanatomical/neurosurgical research
- Help develop new research lines with the potential to be involved in grant writing
This opportunity will allow you to:
- Work in a world-class clinical research environment
- Present findings at national/international conferences (e.g. Human Brain Mapping)
- Publish in excellent journals across a number of fields (e.g. Neurosurgery, Neuroimaging, Neurology, Psychiatry), with 2-4 anticipated publications over 2-3 years
- Actively engage with the large Toronto brain science community (containing one the highest densities of neuroscientists in North America)
The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, medical physics, or related fields with interest in neuroimaging
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Diffusion MR tractography and analysis, fMRI analysis, MR image acquisition
- Expertise in one or more languages/tools: Matlab, Python, R; strong scripting or programming ability preferred
- Expertise in one or more neuroimaging software/tools: 3D Slicer, MRtrix, FreeSurfer, FSL, ANTs, SPM; prior work in image analysis preferred
- Ability to work independently and deliver on schedule
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
